Birdman chats with Tyson Taylor, Executive Director and Mary Coy, Behavioral Unit Manager about the Haven of Lakeside facility and their behavioral unit.
About Haven of Lakeside:
Our Mission is to be the provider of choice in the communities we serve, a gathering place for caring professionals, and a safe haven for residents to thrive, one person, one family at a time.
Haven of Lakeside began operations in March of 2015. They are a 107 bed skilled nursing facility that offers a wide array of expertise in physical, occupational, and speech therapy, dementia care, and global cognitive impairment. Haven of Lakeside has two long-term care units, one post-acute rehab unit, one secured wandering dementia unit, and their newly opened secured behavioral unit.
Haven of Lakeside belongs to Haven Health Group LLC which is the largest provider of skilled nursing care in rural Arizona.

Who is Tyson Taylor?
Tyson Taylor, MBA-Executive Director
Tyson has worked in the healthcare field on and off since 2006. Prior to working with Haven Healthcare, Tyson worked as a can for Heritage Health Care for two years. He worked for Deseret Mutual benefit insurance company for four years. He also spent a year working with the Haven Healthcare corporate office prior to becoming the Executive Director at Haven of Lakeside. Tyson has his BA in Biology from Utah Valley University, and has an MBA with an emphasis in health care administration from Benedictine University. Tyson loves working in healthcare, and has spent a lot of time building relationships over the last year with the community, and the Haven of Lakeside facility. Tyson and his wife Becky have three kids and one on the way. Tyson enjoys the outdoors and likes fishing, hunting, hiking, and camping. He also enjoys the occasional round of golf.
Who is Mary Coy?
Mary Coy LPN-Behavioral Unit Manager
Mary has been in the healthcare field for twenty years. Mary earned her degree at Estrella Mountain Community College. She has worked in a variety of nursing settings ranging from acute to behavioral, but found her passion in the Geriatric Alzheimer/ Dementia field. Although Mary has worked in a variety of locations, she loves to call the White Mountains home, and has worked in this community for many years. When Mary is not working she enjoys gardening, wildlife photography, and spending time with her family.
