*Gloria Falquez stops by to share information about the Witch Wells Church Fundraiser taking place this Saturday, September 22nd at the Community Presbyterian Church in Springerville, Arizona. Address: 41 N Supai St, Springerville, AZ 85938. Behind the Springerville Post Office.

There will be a community Yard Sale and Street Dance. Starts at 8am and runs until they get shut down that night. Asking for donations as entrance fee. Renting tables to set up and sell your items for $5, 2 tables $10, and 3 tables is $12. Yard sale 8am-4pm. 6 bands coming in to play all day, starting at 10am.

-Cool Runnings 10k and 2 mile fun/run walk to be held at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, September 29th, at Woodland Lake Park. Registration is $25 per person for the 10k, $15 for the fun run. Kids 10 and under are free with adult registration. Entry fees increase to $30 and $20 after the 21st.
 

Registration forms are available online at www.pinetoplakesideaz.gov/services/community-services/cool-running-registration/ or you can sign up at the town hall located at 325 W. White Mountain Blvd. Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The 10k starts at 7:30 a.m., and the 2k will begin at 7:45 a.m.

-Annual Fall Festival Parade, Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 10am. This years theme is "Find Your Adventure", float entry forms can be picked up at Town Hall, Public Works Building or found on-line at https://www.pinetoplakesideaz.gov/services/community-services/fall-festival-parade/. The parade starts at Compass back and ends at the Blue Ridge School near the library.
 
-The Pinetop-Lakeside Chamber of Commerce, along with Summit Healthcare and Spider Trainers, is hosting the 43rd Annual Fall Artisans Festival. The biggest weekend of the year on the White Mountain, bring the entire family for a full three days of events including the Run to the Pines Car Show, Cavalcade of Cars, and the Fall Artisans Festival/White Mountain Outdoor Expo—with lots to do for the kids! Live music, great food, two on-site bars, dance floor, and artisans from the entire region representing jewelry, food, metal/wood works, crafts, Native American crafts, and so much more. $2 per person at the gate or $5 with raffle ticket. Free swag bag to adults with local coupons in every bag.
 
Balloon Festival- first-ever White Mountains Balloon Festival will be October 12th and 13th, 2018. The event will be held at the Mountain Meadow Recreation Complex at 1101 South Woodland Road in Lakeside. A Cowboy Music Show, a Family Fun Zone with inflatables and face painting and food and retail vendors has been added to the event on Friday night from 6:00 to 9:00 PM, as shown in the updated flyer at the left. The Friday night admission charge is $10 for the evening or $13 for both Friday night and Saturday. Kids under twelve are free.

 

Made In Greer will be an active participant for the event on Saturday, with a 10′ x 20′ vendor site that will include our birding and wildlife products, a selection of balloon festival-related items and the product offerings from several of our local artisans. The festival will run from 2:00-9:00 PM and it will conclude with a “Balloon Glow” and laser light show after sunset. The entry cost is $5/person and tethered balloon rides will be available at $20/person. Again, kids under twelve are free. Local bands will be playing throughout the event and food and retail vendors will be on site. The White Mountains Rock the Vote Festival is a nonpartisan family community event. Here is a unique opportunity to meet local candidates from all the major political parties and learn about issues in the upcoming election. the event will feature live music by Centerfire, Paloma Streetsiders and Gorky.

There will also be food trucks, a wide variety of local business vendor booths, and door prizes.

Kids activities include a special election “polling” place where they can participate in a fun “election” on a topic tailored just for youngsters — a great way to introduce them to the electoral process.

Special Kids with Special Needs Coalition is growing and making things happen! Contact allison.hephner@navajocountyaz.gov and come be part of this coalition.
